Bahamas Customs Limitations: https://www.bahamascustoms.gov.bs/visitor-info/arriving/
US Limitation: General Rules for importing into the U.S.
- Declare everything: You must tell customs officers about any food, plant, or animal products you carry, even if you think they are allowed. Declaring items prevents fines, even if an officer decides the item cannot enter.
- Fresh produce: Almost all fresh fruits and vegetables are banned to prevent the spread of harmful plant pests and diseases.
- Meats and animal products: Most meat, poultry, and meat-based products (fresh, cooked, dried, or vacuum-packed) are prohibited from entering the country.
- Coolers and ice: While transportation rules allow food and ice packs in coolers through security checkpoints, the contents inside must still follow strict agricultural import laws.
All guests checking in over-sized luggage & equipment (bicycles, kayaks, scuba gear, etc.) must register their items with Customs and Border Protection 24 hours in advance.
By registering your items you will ensure a swift and smooth re-entry to the U.S., with no duty requirements.
All checked in items must be securely packed and distinctly labeled with the passenger's full name, address and telephone number.
Each checked luggage must accompany a passenger with a boarding pass.
Any checked in item not claimed upon arrival at the port of call will be stored for a period of 30 days. If the item in question is not claimed within that time frame it will be disposed of without any compensation to the guest.
Balearia Caribbean shall not be held responsible for any loss or theft of any guests’ luggage/personal items.
Balearia Caribbean Luggage Policy:
